2006 - CURRENT : Content Editor at BIBC Manage the small content team and all media content. I process & edit media content (video & audio), alongside creative editing for showreels/trailers and graphic design for print and the web. Liaise with: BBC, ITV, WARNER BROS, PARAMOUNT PICTURES, UNIVERSAL, EMI, 2OTH CENTURY FOX, TURNER & OTHERS. Clients include: iTeddy, COMMODORE, PHILIPS, PACE & OTHERS
2002 - 2006 : Research Assistant at the Community Media Association Curated online digital media archive of community projects. Additional involvement in creating shared digital metadata scheme, copyright issues, promotion & distribution; liasing with BBC & Community Channel. Included editing, digitising and design work, wrote large part of a published video-making toolkit.
1999 - 2002 : Digital Video Editor at Cool Beans Productions CGI, animated online comics and FMVs at all creative and project co-ordination stages. Worked closely with 2D/3D artists to direct and edit animation, synch audio and prepare images for film, video and internet. 2D design and animation alongside video compositing,texturing and effects for a variety of 3D projects. Projects included: PLAYSTATION & PC games, FORBIDDEN PLANET New York ad, Saintly feature film teaser trailer, company showreels, Playstation Magazine cover images (design/textures).
1999 : Trainee Technician at Sheffield Independent Film: experience of AVID editing, film/video equipment. Also edited organistion's newsletter and assisted with screening events.
1996-1998 : Freelance video production work for ‘Wildlight Productions’ on a number of projects including: • Assistant Director on programmes including music, BBC RADIO SHEFFIELD television Ad, corporate videos. • Co-Producer/Assistant Director on corporate training videos. • Producer on pop video ‘Devil’ (Bolster). • Production Assistant on coverage of World Tenpin Bowling Championships for SKY SPORTS.
SKILLS / VOLUNTARY Self-taught basic web design (Dreamweaver); this site, and created site for voluntary organisation Derbyshire Open Arts
Worked as key part of local record label 'Thee Sheffield Phonographic Corporation' over 6 years; carrying out much design work, including organistation logo, sleeve designs, advertising etc. Also planned and compiled selected releases, arranged events and hosted regular radio show. I continue to do occasional DJ-ing at music events.
Often carry out my own creative projects, including Comics, Paintings, Photography and a variety of other arts and crafts. For my own interest, I have taken courses in photographic printing and Japanese (speaking and writing), amongst other things.
Assisted at an art gallery (Holt, Norfolk) over a summer and worked for Oxfam regularly over the period of a year, taking responsibility for the retro vintage section.
